Giving voice to feminists from the African continent through an online and offline space. This is Eyala’s mission.
Thanks to her blog, Françoise Kpeglo Moudouthe talks feminism in Africa today, and beyond, feminism.
The activist believes in the power of conversation, and it is through intimate interviews that she introduces women who are fighting for gender equality. Activist, blogger, fashion designer, women’s rights activist, doctor… Inspiring portraits and conversations that enrich the debate and elevate minds!
Eyala is a personal testimony.
Member of the board of the Malala Fund and Womankind Worldwide, women’s right consultant, the passionate French-Cameroonian activist shares with us her experiences, her readings, her discoveries, on the blog but also on Facebook and Instagram (which unfortunately sometimes restrict the debate she presents).
Françoise Kpeglo Moudouthe is Pan-African: from Douala to Casablanca via Paris, London and Dakar, she observes, discusses and nourishes her fight for the rights of African girls and women. She meets women from South Africa, Rwanda, Senegal, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Uganda and enriches our vision: feminism in Africa is dynamic, plural and evolving. Battles are many and varied.
Finally, Eyala is a nice offline initiative.
The conversation being at the very heart, Eyala organizes talking groups. Be yourself, exchange, share, learn. In Dakar, Niamey, Ouagadougou, Vancouver, Montreal, and hopefully soon in other cities, Françoise Kpeglo Moudouthe sets up meetings that bring together 15 to 20 women. One rule: sorority.
“How do women who fight for equality define their feminism? What are the experiences that have led them to activism? What is their vision for a better world? Who are their icons? What concessions do they have to make on a daily basis?” – Eyala Blog
A project to follow.
